Course Description:
The PADI TecRec Full Cave Diver specialty is the third level in PADI’s Cave Diver training series, designed for divers ready to take their cave diving skills to the next level. This advanced course focuses on complex cave dive planning and the practical execution of dives in various cave environments and scenarios.
Training emphasizes skill perfection through actual cave penetration while following strict safety limits.
Course Limits:
Gas management using the Rule of Thirds (1/3 of a single cylinder)
Maximum depth of 40 meters / 130 feet
No removal of equipment inside the cave
Use of safety and decompression stops when required
Maintain a single continuous guideline at all times
Use of proper technical cave diving equipment
Course Goals:
Build upon skills from the PADI Cavern Diver and Intro to Cave Diver courses with advanced techniques, including decompression dive planning
Develop the right attitude and techniques to safely dive in complex cave environments
Master advanced cave dive planning and risk management
Train in the procedures, hazards, and emergency skills necessary for safe cave diving up to 40 meters

PREREQUISITES:
Minimum age is 18 years

PADI Tec Intro to cave diver
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
Two independent first and second stage regulators (one must have a long hose)
Submersible pressure gauge
Proper weight system
Buoyancy Compensator Device (BCD) with power inflator, or sidemount configuration (if certified)
Exposure suit suitable for the diving environment
Two masks and fins
Two line cutting devices
Three battery-powered lights: 1 primary and 2 backups, with burn times matching planned dive duration
Safety reel/spool with minimum 37 meters of guideline, plus a second recommended
Primary reel for the team, with adequate length for the planned dive
Reels/spools for planned line jumps or gaps
Three directional line arrows and one non-directional line marker
Dive computer, watch or bottom timer, and depth gauge
Underwater slate with pencils for communication
