Build a Solid Foundation for Technical Diving

The PADI Tec Basics course is a flexible, multi-use training program designed to help divers gain experience with technical diving equipment and develop essential skills like buoyancy, trim, and propulsion. Whether you're new to tec diving or need a refresher with a new gear configuration, this course is an ideal starting point.

You’ll complete:

  • Two knowledge development segments

  • One practical application session

  • Two no-stop training dives

During the course, you’ll learn to:

  • Set up and rig technical diving equipmentproperly

  • Refine your trim, positioning, and propulsion techniques

  • Practice team diving and handle emergencies such as free-flows and out-of-gas scenarios

You’ll begin with some of your standard recreational scuba gear and progressively add technical components. Training is available in single tank, twinset, or sidemount configurations—your instructor will guide you based on your diving goals and experience.

Tec Basics is also a great step toward Tec 40 and beyond, helping you build confidence before advancing into deeper and more complex dives.
