Your Gateway to Extended Range Diving
Reaching Tec 50 is a major achievement in technical diving. As a certified PADI Tec 50 Diver, you’ll have the training and confidence to conduct decompression dives using two decompression gases, with dives up to 50 metres / 165 feet. This is the level where technical diving gets real—and incredibly rewarding.
It’s the final core level in the TecRec Deep Diver path, and opens the door to more advanced expeditions and trimix diving.
You’ll focus on:
Planning and executing extended range dives
Using two decompression cylinderswith different gases
Exploring advanced gear setups, techniques, and dive procedures
Handling complex emergency scenarios
Supporting other technical divers and managing multi-dive plans
Strengthening your “tec diver mindset”
You'll train in backmount or sidemount doubles with full tec configuration, including wing, harness, and deco cylinders.
Optional: Tec 50 Trimix Diver
Interested in using Trimix for deeper, safer dives?
Tec 50 divers can add the Trimix option, which introduces helium-based gas mixtures with:
21% minimum oxygen
Up to 40% helium
You’ll learn about gas density, narcosis reduction, and trimix dive planning, setting the stage for deeper training like Tec Trimix 65 and PADI Tec Trimix.
Ask your instructor about additional requirements for Tec 50 Trimix certification.
